They met way back in 2016 at an event called Kitacon in Birmingham. Naturally, Kerry was dressed as Harley Quinn and Sam, new to the convention scene, was just tagging along for a fun weekend with his brother. One loud gunshot noise and an accidental knee grab from Kerry later they became fast friends.

Their only problem was 167 little miles… though they didn’t let this hamper their friendship which grew through the online games they’d play together. Soon it became clear that they were meant to be and were determined to beat that distance, no matter what!

A few more years, too many trains and what seemed like a million painful goodbyes later, Sam moved down to Kent on Halloween 2020 and they closed the distance. Since then, they rescued a rabbit called Ted, bought a house and got their little blue car but something was still missing.

Then at 6 am on 12th March 2023, on their way to Disneyland Paris, Sam took Kerry up to see ‘The Meeting Place’ statue in St Pancras. They would see this every time they said goodbye from their Disney trips so it had become special to them and reminded them of all the goodbyes they’d said over the years. It was here that Sam asked Kerry to be his forever and of course, she said yes (after panic no-ing in shock about 10 times in disbelief!).

And as they say, the rest is history…
